Christmas Favorites for HOME

Christmas for us is a collection of things we have been given, made or purchased over the years from local stores, Facebook marketplace and antique stores.  Target and Homegoods and Amazon are our favorite big box stores to shop at.  I grew up getting homemade gifts each Christmas from my grandparents and parents so homemade ornaments and signs and those touches of love and caring have always been a part of our Christmas as well!   Every year our house is decorated a little differently which allows for our favorite things to shine in a new light each year while bringing up memories of past Christmases.

This year we were one of 7 stops on a historical house tour in our town.  We had over 225 people here to see our house decorated from top to bottom.  Below are some of the fan favorites that people commented on or asked about over and over again!  Hope they help you put together a Christmas that fills your heart and home with love.

smart plugs I could not have done this house tour without my husband's support.  He is my partner in crime and we love doing home projects or really any projects together.  His favorite Christmas item are these smart plugs.  We literally walk into our house and say "Alexa, turn on Christmas" and our trees, Christmas village, window lights, outdoor patio lights, and music all turn at once.   Also makes going to bed easier as well when all we have to say is "Alexa, turn off Christmas!"  Time and frustration saver for sure! Definitely a great gift for techies!

Flameless candles (we have these in both white and ivory) and use these in our dining room, bedroom, living room etc.  A little extra light in the winter months is always appreciated in New England! You just use a remote to turn on and off.

flameless fireplace candles We have 4 fireplaces and wanted them to shine!

battery operated Christmas lights perfect for adding light to our dark staircases (we have 3!) and mantles (we have 4 plus!) It was rainy the day of the house tour so it was nice to have some added twinkle in all the rooms and stairwells.

Furbo dog camera  A bunch of people asked about this on the tour.  While our dog was not there for the house tour one of our kids checked in on the tour through the Furbo camera!   This truly is a great gift for the whole family and especially the animal lover in your life!  You can check in on your pooch when you are away from home (think college, running errands, at work) and talk to them and send them a treat.   One gentleman said I can't believe I'm on a historical house tour and learning about all these tech items I need to have.  I would not however recommend this if you have two dogs that have any food aggression issues as only one treat comes out at a time.   There is a cat Furbo as well for the cat lovers on your list!

candle warmer  Everyone kept asking about this because our kitchen smelled so good!   The great thing is with a candle warmer your candles literally last forever as the wax does not burn off.   If this one is not your style click on this link and scroll down as there are many different styles.  This is just the one we have and love!

mercury garland - at least 3 people have ordered this since seeing ours!  It is gorgeous and I have loved it for years.  This is the one item I am most excited about taking out each Christmas!

SANTA While there were probably 100's of Santa's in our house for the house tour we didn't have a real Santa.  However my daughter was on Nantucket working at her favorite island restaurant for Nantucket stroll.  Such a fun event each year that she takes time off from her real job to go back for this one weekend.  She and her coworker worked the bar as Santa and Mrs. Claus!  Tip- the better the costumes the better the tips!

santa mug so many people commented on him and wanted one for themselves!  This Target one is a great price! Antique stores often carry antique ones as well.  I could see a Santa mug collection in my future! gingerbread mug -I had ordered him but hadn't picked him up before the house tour...so cute and perfect for my favorite seasonal gingerbread coffee and maybe even my favorite gingerbread martinis!  (Do you see a theme?)  I can't wait to toast being done with the house tour with my new gingerbread mug!
