One thing we have always done with our dog is to give her a toy or something to distract her when we are leaving her for longer periods of time. A bone filled with peanut butter so she runs off and works on that for a while and then doesn't watch us leave out the window. We have added a few other favorites to our list of dog toys that help with separation anxiety and thought we would share with you. Would be great gifts for your pup for a birthday, under the Christmas tree or for a new pet owner or host with a dog that you are visiting this holiday season. We have one large basket of toys that are accessible to our dog anytime she wants them and another basket that we keep in the garage with the special toys we leave with her only when we are leaving for an extended period. She gets extra excited about these toys because she can't access them all the time.
